Good point. Also depressing that she appears not to have seen her brother's adopted children since her brother died. Long Island-to-Florida is not such a schlep that she couldn't have visited at least once a year to check on her nephews...or at least kept in touch via email and plain-old mail...unless she figured they weren't her “real” nephews because they weren't blood. (Yes, you could argue that her sister-in-law likewise could have taken the children north, but that would have meant a widow's paying for three plane tickets.)
