I noticed Andy McCarthy over the last week pushing the meme that Special Counsel Mueller’s job is to run counterintelligence on what Russia was doing during the election.

Quoting McCarthy from a recent article:

"As for Special Counsel Mueller, his principal mission from Day One has been to conduct a counterintelligence investigation aimed at learning exactly what Russia did to meddle in our election so that we can respond and blunt future threats. That mission is not in any way discredited by the committee’s memo [showing the FISA warrant was obtained on unverified Hillary campaign oppo]."

Because the absolute necessity of a special counsel to investigate the corruption in the DOJ and FBI is becoming apparent to every honest person, the GOP Establishment and defenders of the DOJ like McCarthy are setting up the argument as why there should NOT be a special counsel to prosecute McCarthy's old pals like Comey.

This spin that the Special Counsel should not be thought of as founded on the phony allegations in the Steele dossier, but is merely a counterintelligence investigation of Russia is intended to protect the swamp dwellers from being held to account for trying to come after President Trump on the basis of a dossier they knew was phony.

We didn't NEED a special counsel if his job is simply a counterintelligence investigation against Russia. We already have people in the DOJ, FBI and CIA paid to do that.
