To a fair degree, you are correct.

The democRATS created the environment that enables this and there is no legislative fix that the democRATS are going to allow short of total confiscation of EVERY firearm.

I am not convinced that Trump doing by EO, is a prudent course of action by the precedent it sets for future actions by others not disposed to liberty. That is what you need to consider and what many others here are also concerned about.

THere is no doubt that the president wants to improve the situation and prevent future incidents. The question is how to do it without surrendering or enabling future tyranny.

It’s good of you to discuss this. Thank you.

This may have made sense when Democrats were just a different American party.

But that’s not what they are any more.

They are going nuclear no matter what we do.

So, we do it first.

Things are going into unknown territory either way.

I say that “we” must take the initiatives, whether ready or not.

We will end up with something quite different. Either a rewritten constitution based on the same principled but better immunized against leftist attacks it has received for so long, or (if we don’t take the fight to them) a new and worse form of tyranny.

In other words, it’s war whether that was what we wanted or not.
