The FBI revealed Friday it got a tip last month that Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old accused of killing 17 people on Valentine's Day, had a gun, wanted to “kill people” and there was the “potential of him conducting a school shooting.”
The agency in a statement admitted receiving a call on Jan. 5, 2018 from a person close to Cruz who contacted the FBI through its Public Access Line tipline to express concerns about Cruz's erratic behavior and disturbing social media posts
"Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life," the statement said. "We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5."
In concluded that the caller's information was not forwarded to the Miami FBI field office and "no further investigation was conducted at the time." FBI Director Christopher Wray said the Bureau would review what had happened.
“We are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public," Wray said in the statement. "It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly."
He continued: "We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”.......
In their report, deputies detailed how the teen had been harming himself and had talked about buying a gun.

Rename the Hoover Building the Nunes Building.
Move the FBI to some abandoned warehouse way out near Dulles Airport, and the say: “Don’t call us. We’ll call you.”
Move ICE into the newly renamed Nunes Building.
It didn’t further their Trump/Russia Collusion theories.

In kleg lights the “tells” we’re everywhere and for years leading up to this. Many saw danger— even the victims who went to school with him in past years.
Our laws provide very little until the suspect acts out enough to warrant charges and arrests, sadly.

This incident proves how utterly incompetent and untrustworthy the Federal Apparatchik has become.
Time to PRIVATIZE the gun background check system.
I bet if you look at who is running the Federal background check database you will find very low IQ individuals watching YouTube making six figures.
Yes, the local LEO are not so hog-tied by bureaucracy and will react with an arsenal they’ve been itching to use.
I’m sure that there’s a long list of psychos available very well known to most LEO. We have those you used to be institutionalized, those on SSRI’s, those d@mn American-hating foreigners, and our own garden variety nuts.
They’re like kindling, just strike a match.
I’m lucky, the town police and the county sheriffs here are not itching to kill anyone. Very professional. Last year they tried to wait out a suicidal vet a couple of blocks from here who was shooting repeatedly at them. Waited about 20 hours while the neighborhood was locked down. Told him several times during the night that they were coming in to arrest him. But they didn’t. He finally shot himself unfortunately.
Can’t say that I would have had that kind of patience.
They don't care if your child is in a shooting gallery at the public school.
Friends don't let friends send their children to public schools. They help homeschool them.
