In an announcement as obvious as hearing that the sun rose in the east this morning, Mitt Romney let America know that hes running for the US Senate seat being vacated by a man who attended the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Okay, not really, but he is a poster child for term limits after serving in Washington longer than any Republican in history.
Mitts decision to run has been a given since Hatch announced his retirement last month, which followed months of talk between the two about how to conduct Operation Switcheroo in a way where it wouldnt be seen as political nepotism. They failed miserably.
The Mitch McConnell-led GOP establishment is nearly orgasmic over the prospects of having the Massachusetts liberalwho tried to convince America that he was severely conservative during his 2012 campaign for presidentjoin the swamp. However, there are those who are none too happy about Romneys carpetbagger campaign including Utah GOP Chairman Rob Anderson.
I think hes keeping out candidates that I think would be a better fit for Utah because, lets face it, Mitt Romney doesnt live here, his kids werent born here, he doesnt shop here, Anderson said in an interview with the Salt Lake Tribune.

Sadly, the answer right now is no, because no other Republicans are running for the seat and the deadline to file for candidacy is March 15, only four weeks away.
Jenny Wilson is the only credible Democrat in the race. A Harvard alumna, she has Capitol Hill experience as a press secretary and and administrative assistant in the House Office Building. Unlike Mittens, she's also a native Ute.
I’m going to make an exception and root for the DemocRAT. I am so glad I did not vote for this pond scum in 2012. My conscience is clear.
In Mr. Romneycares universe,
all women must stay in binders,
all children must share showers and baths,
all dogs must ride on roofs,
everyone must have RomneyCARE
[except the EXEMPT, of course]
and anything that Ratman Willard deems
must be obeyed.
And all dogs must ride in a kennel on top of the car roof.
So he was the governor of the most liberal state and now he wants to be a Senator of the most conservative state? Maybe he can convince them that queer marriage and socialized medicine is good for them.
He would be even worse than McCain. He would be a loud and obnoxious voice every day working to defeat the American people’s push back against the globalist takeover, and he would be the only in the MSM headlines. I pray there is a way for the Utah GOP to prevent this guy from getting the nomination. If he gets it, and if we are looking like we will hold the Senate, I would prefer that the Democrat get the seat. We’ll get it back in 6 years.
His house is in La Jolla, CA.
On the bright side, while I have no doubt he’ll sometimes be a thorn, I have a hard time seeing him break with the GOP like McCain did over the Obamacare repeal.
Personally I don’t see any difference between Hatch and Romney, neither one is a true conservative. My take.
La Jolla??? So he has three residences? Or he sold his MA home?
Made an announcement today that out of respect for the shooting victims in Florida, he wouldn’t be making an announcement about running until tomorrow - the sort of leadership we need.....
Do everything you can to defeat this leftist. Money— dor to door, telephone banks-— everything!! He is no damned good!!
John McCain has a house near Romney’s California mansion.
Little doubt Mitt is a legal Utah resident, for tax purposes if nothing else. States are very lax about residency for politicians.
>>>WE NEED to find someone STRONG to run AGAINST him!!!!!<<<
He’d have to be a Moron, er, I mean Mormon . . . an NO Mormon is going to run against someone the church endorses.
A non-Mormon has absolutely NO chance.
Go away Mitt. Please go away.

Good one, I'll borrow it, if you do not mind.
Has anyone lost a US Senate race in one state, moved to another state and won?
Won then lost:
James Buckley (won NY Senate 1970, lost CT Senate 1980)
Bob Smith (NH Senate, dropped out of FL primary 2004)
Lost then lost:
Alan Keyes (lost MD Senate, lost IL Senate)
Any others?
Romney groped me!!
Wow...it would be great if this could be changed.
Exactly where is his home state? His father was from Michigan, Mitt was governor of Massachusetts, and now he’s running for Senate in Utah. I guess carpetbagging is the norm nowadays.
