So basically - it is a sh!thole...
We are in Nassau Bahamas now. Beautiful and friendly.
Can we please build the wall???
My sister was in Acapulco I bet 20 years ago. She said it made her nervous with the army guys with their rifles patrolling the beach. Of course she just stayed in the resort area so I told her she was probably safe.
I’ve only been to Barbados. The best part of the trip was exploring in a rental car. I suppose there is always a risk in doing that anywhere - but there were plenty of other tourists checking out the caves, old landmarks, etc.
About 10 years ago my sister went on a “chick trip” to Mexico with female relatives and friends. I told her to go somewhere else. Sure enough, her purse was stolen.
I assume some are good people...lol.

Mexico is what the democrat party wants to turn the United States into.
They like the bribe money and the ability to murder anyone in their way.
Yep, and Cancun can't be far behind.
I thought Guns were illegal in Mexico, maybe they need more Gun Control laws or Bigger signs.
Sad news. I was there in the 1970’s and even back then, we stayed in the resort areas, ate at an American chain restaurant or at the big hotels, watched the cliff divers, did go out to the big public market which was many booths in one central place. Did not venture out into the countryside.
Sadly, Baja’s Cabo San Juan and San Lucas are heading this direction too. 20 years ago I felt perfectly safe. The towns/resorts knew who buttered their bread, the tourists and they put a lot of money into security and police. My last time there 2 years ago... yeeesh. Gang violence, drug violence, murders, the entire atmosphere has changed.
My son and DIL are vacationing in Cancun. When I expressed my concern, they said they’d be sticking to the resort and escorted tours.
The good news is that our grandson is staying with DIL’s parents about five minutes away; we babysat for a few hours last night. He’s a joy at 17 months.
I went to Cabo and PV and saw both as sh!tholes. I don’t get the attraction.
I loved the beeches and water in Hawaii. At Cabo, my brother and I were throwing an “Arobie” (A high speed ring version of a frisbee) in two feet of water on the beech. I dropped it in the water and we lost it. Dead serious.
I have no need nor desire to go to Mexico.
My sister and her husband built a 6,500 sq ft house on the west shore of the gulf of California a few years ago. Beautiful place. They just sold it. They are also done with that country.
But this is not possible. Mexico has very strict gun control laws.
We enjoyed a week of sun in Ixtapa back 20 years ago when we lived in Minnesota. Mexican marines walked the beach every day.
I recall asking the desk clerk about what the marines were looking for...
He said in plain language “Don’t f**k with them...”
Well to be a thoroughly true post, you must say a mix of Venezuela and Mexico. They like starvation to keep people in line.
