Well, you could always raise taxes on the rich. Seriously, giving people back their tax money with one hand while taking it away from them with the other makes sense to you?

Consumption taxes over income taxes always make sense to me.
In 100% of cases, real and imagined.
Though I am a proponent of reducing spending by at least 1/2, along with the tax burden...I am also a realist and know that won’t happen.

If the US could minimize income tax and utilize sales tax instead, all welfare, gifts, and unreported illegal monies get taxed.
Why do you want those three monies to be tax-free while only your income gets taxed? Are you daft?

Dems would do both, raise taxes and tax gas, and everything else possible.
