It looks like an institutional distraction on their part. Like I should look askance at the Chinese folks who run the buffet to which I am going to go in a few minutes. Those folks aren’t trouble. They’re practicing capitalism here in the USA and following US rules. I have yet to eat a single bad thing there in months. They are very courteous. What’s not to like.
Now the quest of mainland China to grab all the world trade they can, at the cost of turning their own rivers and air into poison, is something we ought to care about. Japan didn’t do that; Japan chose quality of life over being the king of the world even though they could have done that. But this is a foreign policy matter.
