President Trumps longtime lawyer told the New York Times on Tuesday that he personally paid off a porn star who claimed to have had an affair with Mr. Trump.
In a statement to The Times, Michael Cohen said he paid the $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford, best known as Stormy Daniels, without the connivance of Mr. Trump or his entities, and was not compensated after the fact.
Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly, he said in his statement. The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.

Cohen paid Stormy $130,000. That sum MUST be reported to the IRS on a 1099. (Her tax guy will do whatever tax guys do to handle that transaction.)
The $130,000 that may or not have been paid to Cohen will be shown as income to him or his law firm.
IRS will be tracking this VERY closely.
I thought the same thing. Why in the world would this guy come out with this story?
It appears she had a non disclosure.
” trump does super models, not skeevy porn stars”
Correct - he’s a “clean freak”.
And I don’t think he would be unfaithful to his current wife.
FWIW, this “whatever it was” with Stormy Daniels allegedly occurred about 1 year after his marriage to Melania.
Good for Trump, don’t care, my 3rd favorite President of all time......Movin’ on, people.....
YAWN, when will the media/Dems learn to try something that isn’t in the column of anti-Trump hatred, it’s sooo boring.
Seems as if this should have come out during the election if it were true. Questions abound. But as conservatives, we shouldn’t just minimize it because it’s on our side.
So what happens to her non-disclosure agreement now that Cohen has pretty much admitted that she was paid off to keep silent in return for her NDA? Does that make it null and void? I don't know, just asking.
Great question. Does it release all parties or only the ones force to pierce it because of a legal action. And was the attorney bound by document?
Porn star who alleged Trump affair: I can now tell my story
'Stormy Daniels, the porn star whom President Donald Trumps personal attorney acknowledged paying $130,000 just before Election Day, believes she is now free to discuss her alleged sexual encounter with Trump, her manager told The Associated Press Wednesday.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, believes that Trump attorney Michael Cohen invalidated a non-disclosure agreement after two news stories were published Tuesday: One, in which Cohen told The New York Times that he made the six-figure payment with his personal funds, and another in the Daily Beast, which reported that Cohen was shopping a book proposal that would touch on Daniels story, said the manager, Gina Rodriguez.
Everything is off now, and Stormy is going to tell her story, Rodriguez said.'
Everything is off? nice choice of words for a porn star.
Why would his attorney talk about even if it did happen?
