Five years ago.
I was in south Florida 1.5-2.0 years ago and even then friends who were living there knew people who had relatives in Venezeula that they shipped food to weekly.
For some reason that I don't know/understand, I was told that they went to yard sales and bought all the luggage they could find, stuffed it with food and sent it to family in Venezeula.
I don't know what the 'angle' was with the luggage. Why not ship it in boxes?
I saw Maduro, all smiley, waving his hands, surrounded by people with vacant looks, nevertheless, clapping and obviously showing support to this monster.
Until those people realize that their countrymen are suffering, needlessly, the problem will never be solved.
I was appalled by what looked like a rally for what is essentially the cause of all their problems. They probably were the “elites” and it makes me sick.
Hard to have sympathy for that country.
Dreamers living the socialist dream.
Because if it’s in boxes, it’s more obvious?
Or, maybe they can use the luggage as raw material to make other things?
Or, maybe cardboard is more likely to get torn open during shipping.
Hard to say.
Maybe the Venezuelans in Miami will be more inclined to vote GOP and offset all the Puerto Ricans moving there.
“I don’t know what the ‘angle’ was with the luggage. Why not ship it in boxes?”
Interesting. My theory? It’s easier to lug your ‘Dreamer’ babies across the border in a suitcase, versus a box. ;)
Get ready for the NEXT wave of ‘Dreamers’ the ‘Rats will use for votes!
Colombia is going to suffer taking care of the Venezuelan refugees.
Better to establish a beach head and arm the refuges. Let them take care of home country’s problem.
My 2 cents.
