Sometimes circumstances work out your way, in a way.

I’m thankful for all my Blessings, because there are a lot of things that are Blessings in disguise.

Things may not work out like I want them to, but often, the way they work out is the way that is most beneficial. (So I ain’t neat when it comes to waiting to pay my bills... I just want to get them out of the way.)

Bedbugs are very unpleasant.

I haven’t accomplished nearly as much as I’d like today. So nu?

I’ve never had bedbugs, so I don’t know how unpleasant they are. I also don’t want to find out.

I didn’t get enough yogurt when last I got some, so I’m going to bed without my “supper.” I’ll try to find a substitute and then shop for the real stuff in the morning. (I wonder how much integrity is lost if one freezes yogurt? Would it be like milk, and have to be well shaken/stirred to recoup the properties?)

For a little while, I worked on another scarf, but as is usual with Mondays/wash days, the stresses have taken their tolls. The alarm is set for 0200 so I can wake up and take the morphine so I’ll be awake enough to make the drive — 20+ miles? — and get the things on my list.

The day is supposed to be cold and rainy and I’m hoping that the early drive will help me avoid the worst of the traffic. If I can leave by 0330, I think it will be OK.

How was the shopping trip to Target with Anoreth?

Did you have any “hangers on?”

I’m sure Dog was glad to see her when y’all got home!

We haven’t gone yet: Mondays are crazy. Also, she’ll want to measure some things in her apartment, once she’s got a lease, so she knows what to buy.

Squee!

I haven’t left yet, either. I was sick during the night, so I’ll just go get some STP and yogurt plus a few other things, including cash for the laundry, then gas up the truck because I don’t think I’d better make that drive in to the Other Walmart for the Full Monty list.

My mouth still wants some steamed rice, but I’ll see if Walmart has some. I thought I saw some several weeks ago in one of my dawdling moods.

Now I’ve got the S-L-O-O-O-W-S.

Sorry to hear you were sick! Nobody’s moving around here yet, and it’s three hours later!

I’m not moving around much myself. I don’t really want to go, but I’m out of yogurt. And I need laundry money. Three machines cost me $8. Grrrrr.

It’s 62°and 34% but I have no idea what the rest of the day will be like. The forecast has changed several times since yesterday so I’m thinking no one knows.

My neighbor Greg and his son flew to CO to pick up Greg’s late father’s ‘93 Cadillac, and on the drive home, Greg began having chest pains. His girlfriend called me yesterday and told me Greg was in the hospital but not where. I had been watching his Cadillac and his Kia, and expected him home yesterday. I was thankful she called. He had timed the trip to take place between his dialysis on Saturday and today. He’s not a well man.

Poor Greg. I hope he recovers and gets home with the Cadillac. Another Cadillac!

Anoreth’s dog was grateful for her walk. Now she’s gone back upstairs to keep a close eye on Anoreth, who is still sleeping on Pacific Time.

He’s not a well man.

A friend of mine ran the NYC Marathon last November. Last month doctors found one of his arteries had 90% blockage.

It's amazing what not well men can do.

He's had his stint put in and is up and about. We're expecting many long years from him yet. I think he's about 61 now.

Since the government admitted they were at fault in Greg’s health problems (he drove buses at the Test Site for a lot of years) they have settled with him. So he now has free medical for life, free medical equipment, a free nurse, and a very short life span with lung and kidney problems. That’s how he got the Cadillac (his) and will be moving out of here and into a condo. (I don’t know when that will take place.)

I don’t think I’d want his health problems.

My mother's favorite health-story-to-tell was that when she was a teen (probably just barely, if I have my history right) she had Diphtheria. When she told me it was at a time in the winter when we were studying basic anatomy and how disease affected the body. Probably 7th Grade.

I asked her how she survived. Her answer? "I didn't know I was supposed to! No one told me it was usually fatal!"

Back from Weight Watchers. Anoreth has gone somewhere; her dog is sad.

Now I’m going to Walmart, and then ‘long about 12:30, I’ll take the young persons to the strawberry farm while Bill has a phone meeting in peace.

We had rain. 50° and 45%, but the rain will continue off and on until tomorrow evening. Someone even mentioned snow on Mt Charleston, but I won’t know until the clouds are gone.

Poor Dog.

Being at a strawberry farm sounds fun, but I’d be tempted to buy Something Tasty from the usual strawberry farm store. Or even something not tasty like a fridge magnet.

I don’t know if they have magnets, but they do have desserts and pizza.

My foray to Walmart wasn’t much fun, and it’s probably a good thing I didn’t want to get much because they were out of almost everything I normally buy, including yogurt and rice pudding.

I DID get a packet of Uncle Ben’s steamed rice, and will try it today. Depending on how it tastes, I may try other flavors, since I only need the microwave to cook it. Maybe I’ll get a packet of brown rice next time. It was less than what the Rose Garden charges, but it may not be as good.

So, I’ll plan on going to the Other Walmart early tomorrow. I hate when things are picked over. :o|
