You make it sound as if your NPR station will go off the air without federal funding.
I know NPR stations do fundraising a lot. If enough listeners pitch in, you will still get to hear your music.

100% in agreement here though the local NPR station plays a great mix of music genres. It doesn't take much money to run a fusion-jazz radio station. DJs work for about nothing.
The PBS millions go to pay six and seven figure salaries for Tavis Smiley, Garrison Keillor, Bill Moyers and the rest of the lefty crew that would starve to death if they had to support themselves.
