What the article doesn’t tell you is because of this they took out 12 of Syria air defense things around Damascus .
Russia can’t even get their athletes in the winter Olympics. No reason to believe anything the putinistas say, Putin would not be reelected in free elections.
I don’t have to choose between Hitler and Stalin like Putin says.
And I don’t have to choose between Putin and Soros.
But fine go ahead and fangirl over Assad, Erdogan, and the Ayatollah. Whatever floats your boat.
I support my president Trump and Americam troops.
You can go join the red army choir revival and Palestinian Liberation Org.
Oh spare me your RT propaganda. I care deeply about Christians and I know Russia firsthand. And one of my favorite people in Russia was a Syrian in St. Petersburg. (Though he came to Russia before things got really bad so technically not a refugee.)
Of course ISIS being weakened is cause for celebration. I never contested that, but Syrian Christian sentiments also vary by region and are more complicated than you think.
Assad is evil.
It was an F16I Soufa, 2 seater.
Simply doesn't happen absent the initial invasion of the middle east. It all flows from that mistake (defending a foreign king's throne with volunteers sworn to uphold the US Constitution).
Reagan owned the mistake of invading the Middle East and backed out. The Bush family just doubled down. They can't get a pass for that if we hope to avoid the same mistakes.
The sentiment 10 years ago was different, long before you were posting on FR.
Totally agree!
+1
There are people out there expressing opinions similar to yours except they say its time for Israel to be smacked down and they hope Iran, Syria, the Russian etc. do it.
They claim the downing of the F-16 and what they believe is damage done to 3 other F-15’s in the IAF today is proof the Israelis are vulnerable to Russian organized integrated air defenses in Syria.
“Israelis are vulnerable to Russian organized integrated air defenses in Syria.”
That is a big threat, and the sheer mass of Iranian missiles is another new threat. The Iranians have a Scud-like missile they can smuggle up close to the border in a standard size shipping container, that could hit Haifa from Syria.
Every war is different, but Israel can not afford to lose one, ever.
I think a key to this Northern War, will be to hit Iran where it ain’t, to keep them from managing the battle near the Israeli border. Best not to fight the fight that the enemy wants to fight.
I joined FR late 2006. About that time, FR was battling things like:
- sanctimonious, two-faced Senate Dems that forget they endorsed the Iraq war
- opportunistic MSM narratives degrading the Military
- KIA counter in Philly
- back-stabbing Murtha
- the Scooter Libby persecution
- Joe “Yellow Cake” Wilson
- Abu Ghraib
- Haditha
- soldiers falsely charged on war crimes
and not to neglect the greater issues I’m failing to recall...
I will not go back on my support for GH nor GW. It’s fair and necessary to condemn their globalism, but I’m not willing to disregard the facts of the Iraq battles we supported.
It’s not on you — you weren’t on-board at the time.. My beef is with those FReepers that have conveniently adjusted their commitments.

Anyway, I found this while digging up details for what I mentioned above. An article from 2007. Check it out.
Comey Says Fitzgerald Deserves Top U.S. Law Post
Comey’s now trumpeting his buddy as the best there is for Attorney General for God forbid Shrillery, while the Janet Reno-neutered Eric Holder is also chiming in his support.

“Oh spare me your RT propaganda”
LOL. There is very little difference between a never-Trumper, pro-Hillary, Russia!-Russia!-Russia! neocon (or Democrat) poster in this forum, and nutcase America-hater Congressman Adam Schiff.
Many of us don’t fall for the neocon line anymore. It would be great if a basic military budget were taken from general revenues, and all the costs associated with causing trouble in the Middle East were laid on the neocons.
1) Don’t speak for Syrian Christians when you don’t give an actual care about them. Actual children die in these places including Christian ones. Your true colors show in your comments. You’re not concerned about what God thinks or have a heart for the innocent at all. You’re just a spewer with no sense of gravity or stakes over what’s actually happening.
2) I was very critical of US foreign policy for past 2 decades as has been Trump. Putin is out Neo-conning American Neo-cons and doing all his foreign misadventures from a much weaker place economically. Things will backfire on him, as we are cleaning up our act.
What are you talking about? I did not say anything about Syrian Christians at all. But since you brought it up, everything I have read is that Syrian Christians prefer the Assad govt to ISIS/AQ or other miscellaneous jihadists funded and supported by the deep state.
Since when do we show our “love” for fellow Christians by (illegally, unconstitutionally) attacking the governments of ME countries?? Did we show “love” to Iraqi Christians by effectively installing a Muslim govt in Iraq aligned with Iran?
We cannot solve all the world’s problems by force. The concept should actually be alien to Christians.
Putin is not a pro-Christian leader. Just smoke and mirrors about anti-gay initiatives covering up an incredibly hostile to freedom, hostile to genuine faith regime descended directly from the Bolsheviks. Even Orthodox Christian leaders face enormous fallout if they raise a voice or say something critical of the regime.
Donald Trump is pro-Christian regardless of his own personal spiritual standing. And it is important to have discernment over what constitutes righteous leadership in this imperfect world.
And I am tired of ignorant Putinbots on FR who have zero understanding or firsthand experience of Russia and life there.
Of* past two decades and yes my dad was in military and great grandfather foreign service in France. I have been obsessed with foreign policy since young age.
I did initially support GW Bush in high school though before changing my mind and growing disillusioned.
I was 13 when 9/11 happened. Putin came to power just before and I have been following Russian affairs ever since the Beslan school siege in 2004 which fascinated me and I love Russian history in general.
But I went to Russia not for political studies, but other fields. I love their arts/culture scene and language.
