If I recall, the ones used on the Show were the only operational Flying examples of the F4U at the time.
Of course the Flying scenes used stock footage.
Most of the aerial footage was shot off the Southern California coast. The island seen during the closing credits is (the eastern tip of) Santa Cruz Island, facing southeast.
Did you see the episode with the gleaming P-38’s?
Man, those were some nice birds. I haven’t seen many episodes but caught that one on TV several months ago.
