After I got interested in ancestry, I constantly questioned my parents and older family members about names, places, their memories and stories they heard, some of my childhood memories. I kept note of everything. Some mysteries I solved but some I didn’t. I also noted that I sometimes got different stories depending on who was telling them.

Your very fortunate. My only family is my immediate family. I was never around the rest of the family but for a week or two in the summers when growing up.

I understand the different stories from family members, has happened to me too.

Also, as my mom got older, she tended to mis-remember things.

But it is a good thing to write it all down, now have I done that? NO. LOL

A niece says to me, auntie please write down all you can remember about the family, I say to niece, come over and I’ll tell you stories and YOU write down stories. LOL

Haven’t seen her yet.
