Yep...I worked for two years in the boonies of eastern Africa on a Yuge mine project and while I enjoyed being there, we used to refer to the continent as a giant TWSH; Third World S-Hole.
I spent a month in Namibia last year and while it is a very nice country, it too is starting to circle the bowl.
As we used to say; “AWA”; Africa Wins Again.
Years ago I took a flight from Johannesburg to Rio.Like most flights from Europe to the US it was daylight all the way...left Joburg in the morning and arrived in Rio in the afternoon...about 7 hours.
It was a crystal clear day as we approached the coastline of Namibia and we were low enough so you could see the endless Namib Desert go right up to the green waters of the South Atlantic.
I got a great photo of it...one of my very favorites.
