The Trump “federal unitized state” ideas need to be replaced. The locals knew the train crossing was not working right, and local complaints had been made. But the locals are not “in charge” and could not force the correction. The locals, not the feds, need to be IN CHARGE of things like a railroad crossing and be able to force a train system operator to fix the crossing or see local police block trains from making that crossing; unless agreement to fix it is sealed and that work is in progress.
There should be no need for a huge federal bureaucracy needed to get a non-working railroad crossing fixed. It was not fixed because passing the decision making power to giant federal authorities amounts to a giant passing of the buck. The local authorities can rightly say they are not sitting on their hands - they don’t have the authority, and often the state officials are in no better position, with everyone waiting for a “federal” assessment of the situation. When you lose the power, you lose the control.
You actually believe the “faulty boom” bullcrap?
If the booms were an issue, they would have been DOWN, not up.
The “faulty boom” did that somehow stall a truck on rail tracks?
The coverup story on this is sooooo stupid that it makes a reasonable person even more suspicious of the incident.
