I understand an agree with your point. That said, I honestly don’t understand basing your existence on any of those things. We all live finite lives, and in the end the most important measure of what kind of life we’ve led is how much we’ve done and sacrificed to make the world a better place. Many of the people Trump had at the SOTU tonight were examples of that kind of giving. The measure of a person isn’t how much silver they have, or who knows them. In that context, I think what Trump is doing now is immensely more important than anything he’s done before.

Oh, I couldn’t agree more. Those people who lead empty lives seeking the next million or the next thrill are missing the point of life.
Clearly we are put here to make the world (not exclusively the people but pretty much the people) a better place. Clearly our Creator wants us first and foremost to Do Good.
People get waylaid and selfish. Some people had no kindness or only rejection when they were young and their other in life shows that Take First or Be Taken mentality. We have to show kindness and goodness to our children in order for them to have such capacity themselves.
