“No one to verify it with now.”

I’m down to one 97 year old uncle who has gone blind and deaf. I did interview him a lot five years ago and recorded it. I sure do wish I had done that with all those now-gone generations when I had the chance.

I guess that I'n very lucky that my family had a "family historian" for man y generations; I'm it, until I teach the next one. My family ( maternal side ) was BIG on "family stories" and I did get my Great Aunt to write down things about her mother, for me, before she died.

And it really does matter; especially because I know what my ancestors and extended family members died from.

My mother was my last source of info, lost her in 2014 but she had limited info on my father’s side. My father died in 1985 at 62, I was 29..my interest didn’t peak until about 10-15 years ago on geneology and any WWII-CBI info I can find on my father. I have some info on the WWII stuff but would love to ask my father a ton of questions..
