Dem intelligence memo wouldn’t fill a post- it note.

Love it. The truth always percolates to the top.
This thing must be ridiculously damning for them to pull this stunt.

Can’t be an intelligence memo if it’s written by the Democrats-—then again it could be jealousy.
To: tcrlaf
I give 70-30 odds they will leak the real one ahead of time and tell CNN to blame it on some Repubican who couldn’t go on with the deception any longer.

The only way for them to do this legally is to get the Rs on the committee to agree that their counter-memo should be released. Anything less should be grounds for expulsion from the committee and the house.

If you got the goods on the enemy, don’t tie a hand behind your back. They should have released the memo...
The dems are much better at fighting for public opinion, because they don’t play by anyone else’s rules.
To: tcrlaf
Pretty sure they need a committee vote to even let the House members read it. And another vote to release it to the public.
Unless it is fact free, and therefore contains no classified material and no links to classified material.

Does this mean that they are covering for people who broke the law?

They are going to have to release all documentation minus the name or foreign spies, otherwise this will come to blows in the streets. The only point for the Dems doing this other than they think they can get away with it.
To: tcrlaf
Consider it free advertisement. And how, exactly, do the Dems expect to get their own memo out of committee without simply leaking it to the media?

Here are the few questions I have about this:
- If the Republican memo is a summary of classified materials that ONLY the members of the House Select Intelligence Committee have seen, then which Democrats are writing this memo?
- If the Democrat memo is based on the Republican memo that the House Select Intelligence Committee voted to release to the entire House, then what underlying facts will this memo summarize?
- If the Democrat memo is written by the Democrat members of the House Select Intelligence Committee and is based on classified intelligence that only the select committee members have seen, then why isn't the same protocol being followed to vote the memo out of the committee, and then have the whole House vote to release the memo to the public?
- If the Democrat memo is written by the Democrat members of the House Select Intelligence Committee and is based on classified intelligence that only the select committee members have seen, and is release unilaterally by Democrats without following proper protocols, then will the responsible parties be stripped of their committee assignments and referred to the House Ethics Committee?
