DUI & felony narcotics. His deportation is long overdue.

Throw THAT quote back in their faces...

If the answer to any of those is "no", you have to leave. Apart from the "dreamers", if you're illegal, you go back.

Even if they answer yes to all questions I'd send them back. Then they can come back on a visa and apply for legal residence, and a green card. If they have legitimate skills, they could apply for naturalization, but never be able to vote.

Their parents should be imprisoned.

How do you like me now?

Aw c'mon AC, what's a few measly misdemeanors?

And felonies! We can overlook felonies, right?

30 years...

did he use the roads?
did he local police and fire departments?
did he send his kids to public schools?
etc etc

all these are services for CITIZENS and have a per tax payer amount associated

Anyone else should be charged with theft of services and deported

The federal immigration judge did not find Torres to be a danger to the community and actually “wished him well,” the attorney said.

...

Unfortunately, not a flight risk either.

I agree. I am a staunch conservative with the immigration issue. This was too perfectly set up to tear down, because I wouldn’t deport him. Then again, we don’t really know the extent of his encounters with the law. Come to think of it, DUI is bad. Really really really bad.

Still, I think you’re on to something with you thought there.

He knew he was here illegally... did he make any effort to remedy that?

...

He committed a lot of crimes, got caught, and convicted multiple times. Actually, that’s not easy to do.

That’s the point of these crackdowns. ICE, the federal government could crack down much harder. But as word gets around people start getting prepared and self deport. It’s horrible but necessary. I also wonder what this man’s civic records look like? Crime? Welfare? Food stamps?

The reporter curiously left those little details out of this sob story.

...

The reporter pretty much let the illegal alien’s lawyer write the story.

lol

So the guy was a "manager" at his solar panel firm. That sounds like a target rich environment for ICE and the Department of Labor.

If the owner was smart, he'd have a labor/immigrations attorney on retainer as we speak.

“...since he was 2 faces deportation after ICE arrest”

Uh huh.....I’m sure this ‘reporter’ thoroughly investigated that claim.

Make an example of him and send him back wherever he came from.

I say send them all back to Mexico...no matter where they came from. Let Mexico feel a little well deserved pain and absorb the cost of any repatriations. It's an adjacent land mass, and requires no expensive airfare, nor ICE chaperons.

However Mexico deals with them probably won't be very comfortable, and will likely discourage any future influx...from anywhere.

“Blame someone? Blame those that brought you illegally into the country.”

Actually, at age 30 with two kids, it’s long past time to blame those who brought him here. Maybe you could blame ICE for not having removed him back when he was convicted for felony drug possession. Maybe back then he’d not have had two children.

ABC news reporting 3 years old instead of 2. I think we can call BS on that part of the story.

His arrest record includes “An ICE spokesperson says that Torres had a criminal record including DUI, drugs and domestic violence.” all pled down
In court.

Do you favor “zero tolerance” rules in schools, or do you expect teachers and school administrators to use context and reason to assess each situation rationally? Should a five year old be admonished, suspended and sent home for bringing his pocket knife to school for show and tell?

Now then, how do we assess the cases of those who were brought here as CHILDREN by parents and relatives, not by their own choice or independent action, and have no ties to where they were brought from; and other than the event that brought them here are now leading respectable lives?

No, I don’t like the lack of border security going back decades that allowed the error in such cases to have occurred so often. But it did. And yes, I am all in favor of correcting that error GOING FORWARD as well as the error of the priority and extent of family chain immigration.

That said, I can personally distinguish between misdemeanors and felonies, youthful errors and adult behavior as well as other factors that should prioritize to whom ICE should be most concerned with directing its limited resources.

Does anyone know how the person who was arrested in this case would have proceeded to obtain legal standing for his residence here, and would it have required or not required his leaving the U.S. and applying to return, and on what kind of visa?
