At LEAST I would say also, I actually think it was WELL over twice. I can’t believe how many people accept the official inflation figures as gospel. I am 73 and I clearly recall when men supporting families were very happy to earn as much as one dollar per hour. Now you could earn twenty an hour or even more and struggle to survive depending on where you live.
They don’t even count food in when they concoct those inflation figures. Some foods have increased in price by more than a hundred percent over the last ten years.
I’m on a fixed income. Well, not fixed, but shrinking. My SIL, who is an LEO, makes the same money I do. In terms of purchasing power, wages are *way* down.
