Muslims are Converting to Christianity in Record Numbers
National Catholic Register ^ | Patti Armstrong

Posted on 01/26/2018 1:04:07 PM PST by GoldenState_Rose

We are in a time of the first ever mass conversions of Muslims,” Father Mitch Pacwa SJ told me in a phone interview. “God is doing a mighty work among them.”

Pacwa said that mass conversions are happening even in very fundamentalist countries. There is rapidly growing number of conversions especially on the edges of the Muslim world in the western and southern parts of Africa, he said. “Africa is now growing predominantly Christian despite crackdowns,” Pacwa said.

Some of the noteworthy countries he mentioned include Iran, reported to have 3 million Christians, and Indonesia with reports of 2 million a year converting.

“In Mongolia, the president opened the country to Christians and there’s even an archbishop,” Pacwa said. “They built a Catholic school there too. If I was younger, I would have gone.” He said that the desire for a Western education was the impetus to open up the country to the Catholic Church.

There are even conversions happening in many strict Muslim countries, according to Pacwa. He did not want to go on record with particulars for fear of increased retribution. Mass conversions are also being reported among refugees that are filling up the Christian churches left empty by Europeans. Many wonder if those are authentic conversions or just a response to improving their chances for amnesty, but time will tell.

Signs of this conversion are showing up in the U.S. too, Pacwa said. “I was about to celebrate Mass at a Maronite church in San Diego and I said hi to a man who introduced himself as Achmad. I asked if he was a Christian. He said: ‘Yes, I was recently baptized.’ He said he from Morocco. Christians do not have the name Ahmad—that’s a form of Mohammad.”

from a protestant minister who founded his own "religion" in the 1950's?????

Holy moly bro, let me clue you in. Ole Daws was not a “Protestant minister” even though you might think he was. He was an unsaved Presbyterian Church member.
By the time he was 20, he was pretty much an atheist. He was a bootlegger during prohibition, among a few other unsavory things, as well as a gas station attendant and a lumber yard worker. Then he started memorizing scripture, but it was more to flirt with the girls. That was kind of like me. I never paid attention in catechism class, cuz I was more interested in the girls too. 😁
Anyway, the scriptures finally sank into his head, and he had the new spiritual birth, which is something that only maybe 1 to 3% of people experience. The rest go to Hell.
He influenced Bill Bright to do Campus Crucade for Christ, and influenced Billy Graham too. I am sure he had assurance of salvation, just like I do. I don’t know if you have it. 😄😀

Why are you changing the topic?

Can’t you answer the challenge?

Why do Catholics call their priests *father* when Jesus SPECIFICALLY and pointedly told His disciples to neither be called by titles or call religious leaders by those titles?

And that includes the title of *Father*.

>>I know He wiped out the entire population of the world in the Flood, except for 8 people 😢 If estimates are right, there were about 150 million people on the earth.<<

Do you actually believe that God flooded this planet with water higher than mount Everest....where'd all that water go?

Yes...because He said so.

The Flood account is confirmed in Matthew, Luke and 2 Peter.

You presume Mt Everest was as high then as it is today...or that it was even there.

Deepest Water Found 1000 km down

Money quote from the article: “If it wasn’t down there, we would all be submerged,” says Steve Jacobsen at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, whose team made the discovery. “This implies a bigger reservoir of water on the planet than previously thought.”

I did a research paper for my OT Survey on Evidence for a Global Flood. The water is there....more than enough to cover the earth. Just as His word said it did.

It also receded just as He said....I believe it went back down into the earth.

2Also the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained; 3and the water receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of one hundred and fifty days the water decreased. Genesis 8:2-3 NASB

ah yes, but the priest can determine whether or not the person is sincere..

Horse hockey bro. When I went to confession, I lied to the priest regularly, cuz I didn’t want him getting his jollies, by prying into my mortal sins. He always “forgave” my sins, even though he wasn’t capable of forgiving me for chewing gum in catechism class.

don't you believe that Jesus just might react to His mother's request sooner than yours?????? No. No where in Scripture or in early church father teaching is such concept to be found.

do you really believe that EVERYTHING pertaining to Christianity was specified in the Bible????

they would be exposed for the cherry picking and very faulty basis for their Bible interpretation.

Aren’t they required to have a priest interpret scripture for them? That’s what I was told, when I was a Catholic. It didn’t work on me, since I was such a rebellious catholic, that I started doing YOPIOS at a young age.
I don’t know, maybe they don’t interpret scripture. They just read it and tell me what it says. 😆

The priest can’t even forgive you for jay walking, let alone anything else. It was then, that I became an ex Catholic. Praise God for that. 😇👍

Yeah, Christ was just kidding when He instituted the Sacrament of reconciliation.....what did He know????

And when they can't get around the clear concise commands of God, they weasel out of it by redefining words or engaging in hyperbole.

Your hatred of the Catholic Church is quite apparent, but your opposing viewpoints are VERY poorly represented.

Yes.

16All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB

The question for you is can Roman Catholicism show in the Bible where their Tradition is? Roman Catholic apologists claim Tradition doesn't contradict the Bible.

However, an examination of Roman Catholic teaching shows otherwise.

Paul tells us.

23For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

26For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NASB
