Major problem in the Senate is the 17th Amendment. Get rid of that and go back to direct appointment of senators by state legislatures.

Original intent was that senators were supposed to be “ambassadors” and represent the interests of their respective states; not a “House of Lords”.

Second fix is to require foolproof voter identification.

Third fix is that your right to vote is suspended if you take money from the Government, welfare or salary. Otherwise, you have a conflict of interest.

Personally I think that is the biggy and would solve a host of troubles.
