the constitution is not flawed... it is we the people that have lost our moral compass.

Yes, it is, just not the way the lefties think it is. The lefties think it is flawed because it gets in the way of their totalitarian "utopian" agenda. However, even the guys who wrote the Constitution recognized that it has weaknesses, such as the possibility of the judiciary overstepping its bounds, which we now have, and the weakness of the checks and balance system when coupled with political parties, as examples. My personal example of a flaw in the US Constitution is its failure to define its terms. That is why the lefties were able to get away with placing Obama in office - the term "natural born citizen" was never defined in the US Constitution and thus was subject to creative interpretation 200 years later. And on and on.

The Constitution was a great work, and has done well, but it should not be worshipped as infallible.

True, that.

But to take the edge off of that, it DOES have the mechanisms built into it to improve it and plug the holes where they are found. It isn't the fault of the document that we don't read and follow its instructions!

The Constitution was founded on the Natural Law as given to us by the English Common Law. It has built into it remedies for its own flaws which also work if congruent with the same Natural Law.

The problem is that Positivists took over the legal profession and the educatioal system and laws have no guiding spirit, but law is what the lawgiver or judge say it is.

It is the law of tyrants. Not the Law of Nature and Nature’s God. SCOTUS packed with em nowdays. Thomas and Scalia and maybe Gorsuch excepted.

The Left--in their ideal world--would pass new edicts on an ad-hoc basis, even daily. The laws would be all over the place, serving whatever convenience, special interest, or whim they had in mind. It would create instability in the country, because any "rights" would be subjective, and any freedom would be limited to whichever party was in control at the time. In effect, we would become a banana republic.

The men who wrote the Constitution deliberately wanted it to be difficult to enact legislation. They wanted new laws to be thoughtful, with checks and balances to preserve freedom and States' rights. This is 180 degrees out of phase of what the Left would want, if they were re-designing the Constitution.
