I hope this is fake news.

If not fake, I feel betrayed. I would take any time kicking out the illegals even if it means no wall or delay in building the wall. Once they have citizenship, they are here forever and bring over other riffraff.

However if the wall does not get built now, it can be built later since there is a good chance GOP will pick up seats.

The fundamental problem is even if this Congress approves every last line of this treasonous proposal, IT STILL SUCKS, and it will guarantee one party rule forever. If this passes, I will loathe Trump and everyone who votes for it.

According to the fine print, you cannot put a happy face on this plan. It is amnesty before border is secured and depends on future Congresses to secure. Ten to twelve years? That won’t last long. Even House members had a better plan than this.

Trump will lose the November election with this plan, and face impeachment and removal next year.

He campaigned hard against such a plan.

It is sick compassion to propose aiding those who came here illegally in any way. This will ruin America. NO DACA, EVER! For any reason.

There go elections

And the rule of law

What excuse do they use to justify fast tracking those here illegally and making those who followed the rules continue to wait to become citizens?

It seems Trump could get a lot more than for what he is asking.

Trump has the ultimate bargaining chip. If he does not like the bill and refuses to sign it DACA is dead in March when the 6 months expires.

And none of this ‘dual citizen’ bullsh1t. They cried about not being full US citizens, give up all allegiance to a foreign power.

Nope, you are wrong about the wall. Boats and planes have passport checks. Trump will create better checking for that and we will be able to find the visa violators and send them back on another plane.

The problem with the wetbacks is the porous border. We can send them back and they turn around and come back in. We sent some back five times and they came back five times. The answer to that problem is law enforcement, plus deportation, plus a wall.

“Only fools will fall for this wall. “

Not really ... we have a pretty good opioid epidemic going on in this country thanks to our porous border. A wall makes it harder (not impossible of course) to get that garbage into the country.

The cynic in me thinks all of the opposition to the wall is due to recipients of drug cartel ‘plata’.

I get part of what you are saying ... but I don’t think it’s wasted money ... a wall would help a lot more than it will hurt. There are large gaps where it is quite easy to enter the country that can’t be patrolled full time ... that’s where a wall shines.

Hey "poker player"/4d chess stooge. Trump at best can serve 7 more years. He will lose in 3 if this DACA amnesty is proposed and passed.

If Repubs lose Congress next Nov/Jan then your 4d chess is meaningless. 2020 could look like 2008 based on the fact that Republicans were too worried about playing 4d chess and not on fundamentals/good governance/Social Contract.

This wretched “deal” would be akin to pumping one more bullet into the corpses of Angel Moms’ slain loved ones? Donald, did you use these moms as props?

Here are some comments I read elsewhere. I did not write these but I tend to agree with them:

“This is brilliant. Is Trump giving away too much? Oh, Certainly.

but the Dems can NEVER agree to it. Even though from their POV it’s a mouthwatering deal, giving them everything they most fervently desire – Schumer and the dems are going to shoot it down. Watch them.

Why? Because the base will go crazy if Schumer gives Trump a win on anything, and because Trump has now turned Schumer’s best play into the Trump Position, Schumer now HAS to fight it, and he has to kill it.

And Trump is going to get the credit for having gone all the way out there and really, seriously, tried to negotiate, in complete good faith – and yet he isn’t going to have to actually sign it into law because he can count on Chuckie killing it for him.

Like I said, this is brilliant.”

******

“not many people understand Alinsky as intuitively as Trump does. (And I could just as easily point to Sun Tzu for the reasoning)

They both teach that the way to victory is to seize the enemies strength and make it your own, thus confusing and neutralizing the enemy. In this case, the enemies strength is their demand for mercy for the poor little childrens that were brought here for no fault of their own. Trump has just seized that position, now it is Trump who has the emotionally resonant merciful looking position in this debate. The Dems just lost it, and with it they have lost all of their strength in this battle.

Now the Dems are the ones who have to deny merciful treatment to the poor little childrens they’ve been talking about. And they have to do that, because otherwise, by doing a big deal with Trump, they will cut the heart out of “The Resistance” that they are counting on to give them a huge turnout in this falls elections. And if they lose this falls elections, they’re going to lose the 2020 elections, as Trump goes from strength to strength.

Worrying about this one bill is like worrying about a single battle, without realizing that Trump is playing to win the entire War. Right here, right now.”

******

“if this was a chess match, the move Trump just pulled would be called a fork. If they decide to go for what they want (path to citizenship) then they have to agree to give Trump all of the credit for having negotiated a solution to the situation by himself. (and their base will be incredibly outraged and be picketing Schumer’s house for the rest of the year, because Resistance!!!”)

BUT if Schumer kills the bill, then he has to vote against the dreamers and kill their best chance of ever getting legalized – and Trump will still get the credit for having offered to give up so much!

Of course Schumer should agree to this – but I don’t believe that his base will let him do it.

And remember how Trump negotiates – “okay, you didn’t take it, now that offer is off the table, this one isn’t as good, you want to take it before it’s off the table too?”

******

“You say that Schumer and the Dems will jump on this because it is everything that they wanted and could reasonably have gotten. I agree that they *should* do that.

But I say that they will kill this proposal, and prevent any agreement at all, because their political beliefs and motivations have now become literally insane. And because of that, they are now about to undertake an insane and self destructive course of action.

It isn’t very often where we get to see a real world test of ideas like this. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.”

If true..? Yeah, then I’m finished with him

If true, they wouldn't get citizenship for 10-12 years, which is about the normal time it would take to go through the green card process.

Who would be your next President who will give us:

The Wall

End chain migration

End to sanctuary cities

Increased immigration enforcement.......

So far, no president has done any of this.

I pray this is not true. The only thing I expected from Trump was no amnesty for illegal aliens, no path to citizenship for illegals, including for the so-called Dreamers who are full of entitlement.

If we don't get the wall now, then that can be negotiated later.

These 1.8 million should be deported. It only leads to DACA2 and DACA3 plus all their relatives.

The full citizenship bargaining chip is ok to use in exchange for ending chain because that means any current citizens can’t pull in their third world relatives. That’s a great deal for our side. Also he’s spending that chip on a wall (i.e. real border security, not fake) and that means we can actually deport criminals without having them come back the next day.
