Way back when a drinking acquaintance (NOT to be confused with a drinking buddy)- who happened to be a lawyer - was always jumping into a conversation and in actuality was ‘dumb as a rock’ and ‘we’ kept reminding him of same.
I went in one day, waited for the appropriate time and ‘yelled’ across the bar:
“Jim — Can you handle a divorce case?
‘Yes, I can’.
Good.. I am getting a divorce and want to hire you.
‘Great get me a list of what you are looking for’?
Why give YOU a list, I am paying you to represent my wife”
