Seems like I recall when the African Nationalists took over Rhodesia and the white farmer’s land, they ran the pumps that brought water from the underground aquifers until the motors broke and then left the fields to lie fallow because no one either knew how, or cared to repair the motors.

Pretty good chance some of that kind of thing has gone on with the change of government in South Africa.

Much like having Jerry Brown in charge in California—creating a water shortage that didn’t need to happen simply because of poor planning and policies.

Those well and irrigation pumps and motors might as well have been interplanetary drives to the intellects now owning the land in Zim after it was redistributed.
