Democratic Senators believe amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants is the “civil rights issue of our time,” declared Sen. Dick Durbin, just before he voted January 22 to end the 2018 budget filibuster. Durbin’s promotion of illegal immigrants above African-Americans and other Americans spotlights the party’s decision that Americans’ deficits in wealth, job opportunities, and education are subordinate to the party’s strategy of allying with business to import foreign voters via the nation’s mass-immigration laws.
Durbin spoke just before the vote began, saying:
So many of you cast a vote that was very hard and very difficult because you believed — as I did — that the issue of immigration, the issue of dreamers, is the civil rights issue of our time. You stuck your necks out and said ‘I’m willing to go on record even if it is going to be hard to explain back home,’ but I will never forget that.

Restoring some sembalance of lawful DC government is the issue of the age. The odds are slim since (mostly) enemies of USConstitution, like Durbin occupy occupy the place.
Return to USConstitution, or perish.
THIS is why the Democrats are going to lose big in November. It’s going to be 2002 on steroids.
Civil rights are for U.S. citizens. Illegal aliens should get human rights recognition (e.g., not executed) as they are dumped back across the border.
This Dick needs a history lesson. The Civil Rights struggles were about the disenfranchisement of American citizens. Not people who broke the law sneaking into the country.
It’s a humanitarian disaster scene all over, Jim. The comment about DACA luring “Dreamers” is at most only part true. DACA lured their FAMILIES into either dragging or (more cruelly) sending them over.
It never would have happened in a better world but it did. And plenty of America of both parties was there nodding and winking it over no matter what the “polling” said.
Now comes the task of unwinding a folly that has entangled many human souls. The wall, the wall, most certainly the wall. Make it stop. But the disposition of the rest is happening before an America that thought “how cute” when Disney aired a 60’s TV special showing the ocarina playing orphan Mexican kid sneaking in to his US citizen aunt in Tucson. One would have to be a monster not to empathize.
At the same time even hardshell traditionalists shouldn’t be too upset. Donald has focused a national spotlight on “Dreamers.” That leaves the rest out in the cold, out of the sympathetic circle. If a “Dreamers” amnesty (to turn them into permanent resident visa holders) and a Wall is had from this, it will be a victory.
Just days after the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday and the Democrats show us they have no regard for the true Civil Rights struggle for the past fifty years in America. Our U.S. Constitution did not declare rights to any foreign subject or citizen. This is proof that American Black lives don't matter at all to a Democrat.
