You referred to a complexity of motivation as determinative of action. I agree. I have long believed that motivation mounts up to critical mass thereby forcing a given action. Never is an action derived from a paucity of causes. It is always necessitated absolutely by a preponderance of influences. We do what we do because we have no option to do otherwise.

Don’t know that I would say “no” option ... but the influences can be very powerful.
