I do know some green-card holders who have been here 30 years and they still are green-card holders. All they do is keep renewing. Their decision..

One of my step-sisters included. She's been married to an American (he's an asshole) for over 40 years now but retains her Canadian citizenship while renewing her green card whenever it's required.........

One of those I know of is also Canadian. No gratitude to this country. He’s a POS but at least he pays his taxes here and keeps out of trouble.
