Iranians Deserve our Support

But for almost as long as Iran has groaned under this oppressive, historically unnatural regime, there have been signs of change coming from within. At no time since 1979 itself has this been more pronounced than right now. Massive pro-democracy demonstrations have flared up around Iran, as people take to the streets in bold defiance of the government (and at no small measure of personal risk) to demand a say in their leadership. This kind of demonstration is virtually unprecedented in the history of Iran; the closest parallel would be the Green Movement of 2009, when Iranians protested a probably-rigged presidential election, but already the current unrest has spread across the entire nation. Also, the Green Movement concerned one particular election; now, many people are called for an end to the Islamic regime entirely.

Another reason for the wide scope of and participation in the current protests is the advancement of communications technology, even as compared to the Green Movement. News of the protests has spread freely across Telegram, Instagram and other social media, getting the word out to the many sympathetic Iranians in the country who want to take action but have always felt powerless. The role of technology in this unrest, in fact, cannot be overstated, nor should it go unnoticed.

The Iranian demonstrators are the victims of Iran’s “Net Neutrality” programs and policies. They are unable to access or use the internet to communicate or coordinate and the government of the Ayatollah has them frozen in time and space, incommunicado and insulated from the world and any visible means of support from supporters.

Net Neutrality, the weapon of choice for tyrants.

We do not need to get into another civil war. Since 1940 we have intervened in Panama, South Korea, Syria, Iran, Guatemala, Lebanon, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Chile, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, Granada, Kuwait, Iraq, Libya, the Palestinian Territories, and Syria again. We need to take a step back and let the world figure out what direction it is going to go. This trying to influence the situations is getting expensive, costly, and death tolling. We need to let them commit so we can better do our work for ourselves and not try to do their work for them.

They missed that the protest is over. The price of eggs was reduced. There are no protests now. I read this narrative as wishful thinking. These people want you to go to war with 93 million in Iran. I suggest with only 5 out of 58 units “combat ready” and 50% of our aircraft grounded with no parts and only 26% of our ships operational , that would not be very smart. Far better to get our borders secured and mind our own business. Had we done that. we would not have the total disaster in Iraq of 5000 dead, 40,000 wounded and 3 trillion dollars ( sufficient to rebuild our nation) blown — for nothing.

If this countries shores or military bases are attacked I advocate tyhe immediate nuclear annihilation of that intruder. But these people want to use your money and more importantly. your sons to go die for THEM They will not go. They will stay at Martha;s Vineyard and check their 401 ks on line each hour. Making Americam Great is not making war mongers rich. It is about America!! Not allies . To hell with allies. They dont pay the bills our children are stuck with. They don’t die!!

I’m wearing a Pussy Hat, went to a march and spoke about my problems to anyone who listened. I’ve done enough. Ask Obama or Hillary.

Deserve our support? For their civil war, that will simply create a new tyrannical Satan worshipping regime?

No, one thing we learned about bringing Iraq and Afghanistan freedom is that they really don’t want it. They are all jihad all the time...

“They dont pay the bills our children are stuck with.”

Factually, we and a group of countries are paying their bills. And thanks to Obama and H. Clinton and the treaty (?) they set up with Iran they have been allowed to access the billions of dollars that were being held from them to build their nuclear program to attack, at the least, our allies in Israel. And that will be done as soon as they think they can get away with it. And then the gloves come off whether we want it or not. And that one will get ugly.
