I have had genetically high cholesterol my entire adult life. It is never been below 200 total. However, I do not smoke and I try to keep my weight down. Cholesterol is looked at as a percentage of HDL/LDL, weight, etc.
I took statins for awhile. They all gave me muscle aches in my legs. I never took the Coq10 though. You might ask your doctor about taking a higher dose of NIACIN(vitamin D).
I take 5,000 of D per day. I also take Omega 3’s which keeps my HDL at about 100. My doctor said that statins will eventually cause the thing they are supposed to alleviate. They cause muscle damage including the heart muscle. That is why guys have problems with um, you know. Staying on them long enough will cause irreversible muscle damage. Good thing you got off them.
