An ethics complaint is an excellent idea. Get it out in the open. Maybe more Republican Senators will begin to stand up for Trump.
If a complaint were ever filed, it would go behind closed doors for private hearings, sometimes for months or years, and we would never hear of it in public again.
A complaint will never be filed for a "he said, she said" moment in a private meeting when there are no videos, audios, transcripts, nothing other than what people recall.
Supporters of the president heard it one way. Lying, sack-of-sh*t Durbin heard it his way.
Durbin performed well for his party. He has a long reputation for being the go-to guy for the democRATS when they want to plant a hornet's nest into an otherwise normal situation to politicize it.
Or as they say nowadays, to weaponize it. Durbin weaponized the alleged derisive remark made by Trump, to further the Left's goal to destroy Trump.
This is how both houses of congress address their member's unethical behavior. They don't air their dirty laundry out in the open.
