Trump's Nightmare (Demovrats to gain +40 seats house?)
Axios ^ | 1-14-17 | Mike Allen

Posted on 01/14/2018 2:27:38 PM PST by Angels27

Trump's day of reckoning ... The one thing that could dramatically diminish President Trump’s chances of avoiding impeachment and chalking up legislative wins is Democrats winning the House. And, thanks to series of recent developments, Trump knows this no longer just seems plausible, but probable.

Hill sources tell us that a House Democratic takeover is now likely.

One strategist close to Republican leaders believes that a loss of the House is "baked in," and said top Republicans don't see a way to avoid it.

It would take a flip of 24 seats for Dems to take over. The average loss for the president's party in his first midterm is about 32 seats, and we're hearing forecasts of 40+ losses.

The GOP has died, it just hasn’t fallen over yet.

Trump should have declared for a replacement party by June, but, woulda coulda shoulda - that and a nickel will get you on the subway.

To quote a great American - too bad, too bad - oh! too bad.

The next Democrat Speaker will become the President, so, you’re right - it will not be San Fran Nan.

Could happen being that we are a one party system and the Republicans merely tokens to give us the illusion that we have a choice. Don’t forget: Trump became President DESPITE the Republican party who fought him every step of the way, all the way up to the election we still had people like slimebag Paul Ryan still stabbing him in the back in support of the matriarch of the Clinton crime family Hillary. The people are going to decide: Do they want this country controlled by the uber rich globalists or by the people? The sad part is there’s a hell of a lot REALLY stupid people in this country who are totally and completely controlled by the propaganda network of these globalists.

Reasons are mixed....many were not Trumpers as I understand, some in tough districts where they might lose, some to be primaried.. Quitters. One resignation was made because the rep had maxed his committee chairmanship and lack of power didn't appeal to him.

It's a positive. Resigners know quite clearly the electorate is NOT HAPPY with them and the sentiment across the aisle is currently hostile.

All Trump has to do is hold a rally in those states and watch thousands come out. I call BS on this story

No doubt that the Stupid Party could use an infusion of intelligence.

"I sure hope these sorts of reports are a wake up call for the GOP."

I doubt it, simply because the GOP leadership in the House does not support the Trump agenda. They are comfortable being in the minority.

Just like a dem winning in 'Bama, not gonna' happen...Oh wait.

We can hold the House and Senate, but it's by no means guaranteed.

Trump’s strength on the campaign is the rallies. They cumulatively won the national campaign, state-to-state, for him. But in mid-terms a single rally could sway districts one at a time.

He’ll know what to do.

The President has to make the public believe that the economic gains are a result of his deregulation and tax cuts then the Republicans might retain majority.

The investigation into collusion among the democrats and our intelligence agencies to steal the election might help but I think that the lag time between the opening of the investigation and the guilty pleas will more likely affect 2020.

If the dems take the House Trump will be impeached. Not for legal but rather political reasons. The President will not interview well if deposed however. There just needs to be enough Republicans in the Senate to not convict him. Then the question is will he have the political capital to win in 2020. If the Senate fails us will the SCOTUS go along with demanding a President resign for political reasons rather than “high crimes or misdemeanors”.

The media has solidified millions out here to defy their predictions on giving any votes that would hinder Trump.. the anger against what they have done will come full circle in the voting booth.

The Bush League Republicans who could not get re-elected are quitting. They will help their replacements to lose if they are not on board the Cheap Labor Express.
