She had a bit of an accent, and said she had a Swedish background. She talked about how her family had worked hard, scrapped and saved, made their way across the fjords and across the ocean, and all the way to the USLots of Scandinavians in Wisconsin / Minnesota / The Dakotas. The land was cheap - practically free - and they were great farmers. And a climate they were accustomed to.

It’s a good climate for some things. Slackers looking for an easy life tend to gravitate elsewhere. And hockey is a good thing.
