On a very old thread, I suggested Duterte for Attorney General. He could give lots of swamp critters a one-way flight to 500 feet in his helicopter.(As he was alleged to have done when he was Mayor in Davao). Mark17 lives there and might have some better insight as to whether that is Urban legend or fact.

I have asked people in Davao about the helicopter rides. They seem to indicate that is an urban legend. Now, the DDS (Davao death squads) May be closer to the truth.
I was in Lipa City back in October, to see my son, who had come in from California. He is getting ready to go to USAF OTS at Maxwell, AL, then on to SUPT. You are right about being bandwidth challenged. I was frustrated with the slowness of their internet speed. Here in Davao, I used to be with Globe at 10 MPS. When the contract expired, I switched to PLDT, fiber optics (yes, we actually DO have fiber optics here) and get 50 MPS for 2899 pesos a month, about $55. I think the next step up, is 200 MPS, for 6,000 a month, but 50 is fast enough for me.
