Trump's 's-hole' comments typify how the GOP uses immigration to energize its base
NBC "News" ^ | January 12, 2018 | by Kurt Bardella

No issue defines the Republican Party more than immigration and no issue has a more energizing and polarizing effect on the Republican base.

It’s hard to find a better example of this then President Donald Trump's own comments. As first reported Thursday night by the Washington Post, Trump asked in a meeting “why do we want all these people from s-hole countries coming here?”

Although Trump’s vulgarity sparked instant and justified condemnation from virtually all corners, at least one former Trump administration official noted that “there’s a large segment of voters who it resonates with as anti-PC 'straight talk.'"

Over time, I have watched as immigration has become a vehicle used by many in the Republican Party to promote their xenophobic and at times racist world views, all under the guise of security and rule of law. So while Trump may represent the latest iteration of the problem, he certainly didn’t create it.

Now Republicans need to ask themselves: How low are you willing to go? Because if there really is a war going on right now between those who want to “make America great again” and everyone else, do you really think you’ll be able to win with a racist on your left and a white nationalist on your right?

Ask this question to these leftards: if their countries are NOT sh*tholes, then why do they live and work here??

A VERY large segment...Large enough to win an election apparently, President Trump certainly made no secret of his views during the election (remember the escalator speech).

It's funny the difference I see, the media is screaming and calling Trump a racist like he just proposed to re-institute slavery. Yet every person I've talked to in my work place today has said Trump is spot on in stopping chain migration from 3rd world counties. About the strongest condemnation I've heard is from a women who said she agreed with him, but he should watch the "potty mouth".

One of the biggest problems with Libs is that they travel to these other countries, but never leave the pretty, shiny, beach-front or historic-centered tourist-trap areas of those countries! And looking around, they scream, “HOW CAN AMERICANS NOT WANT TO BE LIKE THESE PLACES?!?!”

Because, just like in Mexico, if you go more than five city blocks from the tourist-trap areas, you are in a TURD-WORLD COUNTRY!! Not ALL of Mexico looks like the streets of Cancun! Not ALL of Haiti looks like the tourist port cities!

Actually, MOST of the country-side (within these other countries) ARE THIRD-WORLD S-HOLES! That is the honest, BRUTAL truth, which Libs want to deny or ignore! The reason these people are clamoring to get to America is so that they can escape the GOVERNMENT-RUN CORRUPTION and POVERTY!! Think Michael Moore saying Cuban health care is better than American health care....they either have NO CLUE or are just ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT LYING!!

DUH!!

It is amazing to me that a Democrat-Communist, like Durbin run to the media to tell on what was said in a private meeting. Yet, Terry McCauliffe can publicly state he would use physical violence during a Presidential debate if Trump gets too close to him. And the media is upset over a word. The Democrat-Communist Party is a 💩hole!

Whites better be on high alert. They are working to rile up blacks and hispanics and a full scale race war.

Here is CA, Hispanics are fully emboldened to slur whites in public. Happens all the time.

Pretty sure all the people who are here and from those countries would agree they are Shiite Hole countries.

If not:

Why did they come here?

Why have they stayed so long?

Why don’t they visit?

Why did they bring loved one’s with them?

Why do they not want to go back to their “wonderful” country, MORE than they want to stay here?

Why don’t those countries have air conditioners?

Why don’t those countries have cable?

Why don’t those countries have 7-11?

Why don’t those countries have Walmart?

Why?

Why?

Why?

I know plenty of immigrants from African nations and those to the south and other to the east.

Ain’t no one going home ....ever and they have so with a long list of reasons why here is better than there....

Democrats use immigration to energize its base by thwarting anyone who attempts to vet those who come from foreign countries into the USA.

We are at war.

The Democrats realize they will never be in power without massive imports of people who have a high propensity to vote for those politicians who like to hand out free stuff.

We need to build the wall asap.

While the wall is being built, the Democrats will be aborting themselves into extinction. Win-win!!!

“Why do we work so hard? For what? For this? For stuff?” asks actor Neal McDonough as he gazes out over his pool in new Cadillac’s TV commercial before delivering a dissertation on the American Dream

“Cadillac made a commercial about the American Dream —

They’re consumers with a “little bit of grit under their fingernails” who “pop in and out of luxury” when and how they see fit, he said. “These are people who haven’t been given anything. Every part of success they’ve achieved has been earned through hard work and hustle. . . . One of the ways they reward themselves for their hard work is through the purchase of a luxury car,” he said

“...hard work creates its own luck. In order to achieve it, you just have to believe anything’s possible. You have to believe in yourself, you have to believe in possibilities. It’s really about optimism. It’s really a fundamental human truth: optimism about creating your own future. It’s not about materialism.

N’est-ce pas

“American children are 60% more likely to die before their 20s than kids in other wealthy countries?”

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-5259705/American-children-likely-die-age-20.html

Odd how there’s no racial breakdown statistics with this story... no examination of ‘diversity’... I wonder why?... /s

(could be that the truth would be uncomfortable for white liberal elites to acknowledge...)

What gets me is all the lame stream media , Including Faux News, come out and treat it as gospel before all the facts are in.

And many people on this very site believed them in turn.

If Senator Cotton and others said President Trump didn't say what Dick Durbin said he said......"...Republicans need to ask themselves: How low are you willing to go?

The Party of ....s, masquerading as Progressives/far left or the Late Democrat Party are so willing to deep-six their country for any silly reason that presents its self, even totally mendacious and duplicitous hear-say remarks....it would seem the ex-DNC wants the nation back on their plantation where they can control the president.

“Over time, I have watched as immigration has become a vehicle used by many in the Republican Party...”

totally backwards. It is the Republican base That wants our country back and insist on laws being enforced. Just like he did during the campaign, Trump is only vocalizing what we have been frustrated with for decades.

60 million immigrants since 1965 and it is racist for someone to sound the alarm?

So if all this is true Kurt why did a Republican president keep an open border and fight for amnesty for 20 million illegals? Why are we letting one million new immigrants per years mostly from Africa and the mideast come here? The GOP has let all this wonderfulness happen Kurt. Why are you so pizzed? :-)

‘Graham and Flake say he did.’

Has Graham publicly confirmed that he personally heard Trump make the comment? I thought I read that Graham has made no public statement.
