Yes, he said the wall must be part of any DACA deal.

But, like I said in several other posts, all the Rats need to do is get a Rat judge to issue an injunction on the wall, and they get their clean DACA bill. The Rats always have Rat judges to fall back on. Just as they relied on the Rat judge in California last night, ruling that Trump cannot do anything about Obama’s DACA executive order, and that the Obama DACA executive order must stay in place.

Obama’s DACA executive order was illegal, as he usurped Congressional authority: Congress alone has the constitutional power to pass such a law. Trump, correctly, said that the DACA issue must be addressed by Congress, and that Congress must pass a DACA bill, as that would be the legal approach. He also, smartly, sought to wave a carrot and stick by saying he wanted any DACA bill to be coupled with border security (which, unfortunately, he failed to clearly define). So far, so good, IF the undefined “border security” included an end to chain migration and an end to visa lottery. That is what we want and expect.

However, Trump then said: “I respect all of you (i.e., Congress), and I will sign whatever bill you put on my desk, even if I disagree with elements of it.” That gave the Rats all the room they needed: They will only agree to pass a bill for DACA and a border wall (without any end to chain migration and an end to visa lottery), the latter of which (the border wall) they know they can get struck down by a Rat judge. So, they get their clean, stand-alone DACA bill.

That is not “hair-on-fire” stuff. I don’t know how old you are, but I well remember the Reagan amnesty of 1986 when the Rats told him “Give us amnesty first, and we will then pass a comprehensive immigration reform that will ensure that there will be no more illegal immigration.” Reagan agreed to that, and before the ink on his signature was dry the Rats said “GOTCHA!!!” We know how the Rats operate; they are so very predictable. That’s why Trump’s comment that he’ll sign whatever bill hits his desk makes us nervous.

Respectfully.

Why don’t we wait until that bill is on his desk before, yes, a lot of you (generally the same people) run around with your hair on fire? He’s has contradicted himself on other subjects and always ends up fulfilling his campaign promises.

The problem is that there are Never Trumpers here - you may not be one of them - who upset other people with their constant denunciations of the president. I, for one, get sick of it.

I believe in the President and think he will do the right thing.

If you have ever read any of my posts you’d damn well know I am not a Never-Trumper, and that I am one of his most avid supporters. I was also not a Never-Reagan, and I was one of HIS biggest supporters. I believe in Trump just as I believed in Reagan. I just don’t want 1986 redux.

I must say, blanket condemnation of people who have legitimate concerns, based on documented history, and tossing pejoratives at them like so much confetti does not become you. I’ve read your comments on a great many threads over the years, and I usually enjoy and respect and agree with much of what you have said in those threads, so I guess I am surprised at your summary dismissal.

I am not familiar with your posting history and as I said, I didn’t know whether you were a Never Trumper or not. But they are here in droves unless you missed it and several of them were out of control yesterday. Did you miss that?? Or are you just commenting on people who disagree that the president has sold out, lock, stock and barrel?

And I’m sorry, there is a Never Trumper here with the brains of a turnip.

Yup, there were indeed some out-of-control posters yesterday, and they copied their own comments and posted them again on other threads, kind of like leaving finger prints. Those folks, I just ignore; and I don’t dignify their broken-record shrieks with responses to or about them.

That is what I am saying...

END CHAIN MIGRATION FIRST!

Then passing DACA will not allow their relatives to become eligible to be legal Green Card holders (Permanent resident visa, which makes you eligible to apply for US Citizenship in 3 years or so).

Chain Migration is worse by ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE than DACA.

Spend your energy fighting chain migration!!!

We, of course, were right, when everyone else was going nuts. As soon as they showed up in his office with their little plan, he hit the roof. Never believed he would sign “anything” they gave him.
