Apology NOT accepted! White House says 'the man has lost his mind, and good riddance' after 'Sloppy' Steve Bannon claims he was not talking about Don Jr when he slammed 'treasonous' Trump Tower meeting

On Sunday, Steve Bannon released statements to Axios apologizing to President Trump and Donald Trump Jr

'I regret that my delay in responding to the inaccurate reporting regarding Don Jr has diverted attention from the president's historical accomplishments'

He explained that when he labeled the Trump Tower meeting with Russians 'treasonous' he was criticizing Paul Manafort, who should have known better

Donald Trump Jr, Bannon said, 'is both a patriot and a good man,' as he complimented the president for his political savvy

Bannon also played up his longtime loyalty, claiming, 'I am the only person to date to conduct a global effort to preach the message of Trump and Trumpism'

White House said Monday that there's not any conceivable 'way back' into Donald Trump's good graces for Bannon after the book revelations

The White House rejected an apology from Steve Bannon, the president's former chief strategist, on Monday, saying there's not any conceivable 'way back' into Donald Trump's good graces for him.

Bannon apologized to President Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr, on Sunday, for slamming a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting that's come under scrutiny from the feds as 'treasonous.' Raj Shah, the top deputy White House press secretary, said on Monday, though, that on Fox News that President Trump's opinion 'hasn't changed' since Bannon's statement.

'Frankly, look, the president said it, the man has lost his mind, and good riddance,' Shah proclaimed.

how is it that Sessions gets away with the screw ups he’s committed by his recusals

Give me a break. Sessions only recused himself from the fake Russiagate, which itself was limited to the presidential campaign.

Doesn’t change the fact that you’re living in a fantasy world.

You make your case like a post modern Leftist.

JUST like a post modern Leftist, in fact.

Meaning, you don’t make it at all. You just waste people’s time.

Brannon went to bat for Trump throughout the entire campaign. He screwed up and rightfully apologized. To think this was all preconceived by Bannon to bring down Trump is something only a fantasy writer would believe.

“Trump has turned the Senators and Reps he has into Trump loyalists. They’re on the Trump Train now and Bannon is done.”

Don’t be fooled. They’re still loyal to the $wamp. That’s how they get paid and earn their millions.

The only reason they’re supporting Trump is they now believe they have leverage over him so can get some of the things they want. Such as protection of investment banker tax loopholes (done), DACA amnesty (in the works), no border wall (in the works), etc.

They don’t represent Americans’ interests, only their own. Hopefully Trump won’t ‘work with them’ any more than he has to. With Bannon gone there’s no one in the WH Administration I know of to push the America First economic and other nationalist (vs. globalist) policies. There are plenty of Globalists though, like the ones who speak badly and leak about Bannon.

Personally, I trust Bannon more than any of them. They’re all part of a culture that worships power and their access to it for personal gain. Promoting policies which use that political power to serve the best interests of the nation and the states is anathema to them. It’s like kryptonite. It takes their power to exploit the political process for their own gain away from them. This is why we hear politicians and pundits calling the tax reform theft. Because it takes away their access to power and money. That’s why they’re there. That’s all they’re about.

Unless I hear Bannon say it or hear it second hand from Rush, David Horowitz, Dennis Prager or a member of the Freedom Caucus then Bannon didn’t say it or do it. I suspect the vast majority of the unsourced ‘Bannon said, Bannon did’ is Fake News. They do it to Trump but people don’t think they’d do it his political strategist who authored the platform that elected Trump?

Bannon had to look no further than Wolff’s previous books and the negative responses they got to understand the treachery and dishonesty of someone who had entre into the White House on his invitation.

This book was intended to be a disaster to Trump, and Bannon knew it and aided it.

I do not see that Trump made a poor choice with Sessions or in firing Comey. I remember that a lot of people here were happy about Trump’s choice of Sessions at the time and Comey is a crook who really needed to be fired. There is a difference between being let down by people and being a straight up idiot. The Trump admin is widely hated by liberals. Bannon certainly knows that. In my view, there is not much you can do that is more stupid than inviting a liberal writer known for making sensational crap up to take up residence in one’s office in the Trump White House. If Bannon is actually that stupid, he needed to be gone for that reason. If he suspected what the guy was likely to do, that makes him a snake and he needed to go. It was either dumb of him or malicious.

Really? I love Trump and his agenda

You could have fooled me over the last few days with your hissy fits about President Trump being a Swamp creature now, and all manner of garbage like that.

You were totally out of line. Are you having second thoughts regarding your gratuitous savaging of the President?

So you better hope Bannon gets his mojo back.

You are absolutely delusional. Bannon is less than a nonentity now and forever.

He did that to himself, and there's no fixing his stupid.

Bannon wanted to elevate his position instead of just pulling for the team - he opted to change the playbook w/o regards as to what the ‘coach” wanted....

Um. he caved to the swamp creatures.

Bullsh-t. Caved? You don't know the meaning of the word.

The evidence of any "caving" will be seen in the policies he promotes. Until some drastic change occurs there, your talk of caving is garbage...

Supporting MAGA candidates in the primaries a critical role for him and he punted on that one. There is no sugar coating that turd. Even the President would admit that. He just made swamp life easier.

I guess Trump is hoping to get something for it? What that is I have no clue. You'd think in return for this massive cave he'd get something big like "the investigation" stopped but Sen Goober Graham said their was no reason at to stop the investigation. Judas's all.
