Former Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson reacted angrily to President Trump's apparent abandonment of a campaign pledge to leave pot policy to the states, saying he hopes the pivot ends Trump's shot at re-election.
Johnson, who served two terms as a Republican governor of New Mexico, said the Trump administration is "grossly underestimating the anger this will create."
"I hope it dooms his re-election. Trump promised to leave marijuana to the states," Johnson told the Washington Examiner.

We could watch and see how Pothead Trudeau does in his next election after he Legalizes Pot
>
Because we have a federal law against marijuana use, the justice department needs to enforce it. The alternative is to get the Congress and Senate to rescind the federal law.
>
Well, I guess now there’s the distinction between (C) and (L). (L) will note the Law is an ass and fight tooth-n-nail to correct the balance per the Constitution. (C) seems to go ‘Ho hum, we’ll elect BETTER (R)\(C) and THEN try to win back some of the massive yardage gained by the (D)\Leftists”...until it’s not their ox getting gored.

It amazes me that so many people do not understand the fundamentals of our democratic republic.

Constitutional Republic. Sad to see anything ELSE within FR.
Jeff Sessions has triggered the WeedWussies!
It’s the only reaction potheads have: #triggered.
That’s why they need and depend on their pot so badly, to compensate for their triggerability.
By the way, if potheads turn to pot because something triggers them, what do you call the pot smoke that they inhale?

Triggly Puff!
It’s federal law. They will use it to leverage “sanctuary” city/states. This is why it’s left to the U.S attorney in each state.
The media is backtracking on this story this morning. Basically they say the new policy is that individual us attnys should consider themselves free to enforce the federal marijuana laws if they like.
Watch as Canada rolls out legalized pot sales... In this country it may have led to the election of substitute elementary school teacher Just Not Ready Trudeau, but after pot becomes legal on July 1st (formerly known as Canada Day), the troubles and travails of legalization may lead to Trudeau being turfed from office for stupidity... Of course, he’s been pretty stupid and naive on a multitude of other issues as well, but marijuana legalization is his baby and it may be his political coffin as well.
Agreed, congress has been so busy pandering for money they’ve let the executive branch act at will.
If it is a law, enforce it, if you don’t like the law lobby to change it.
“... we have a federal law, the justice department needs to enforce it. It amazes me that so many people do not understand...”
Not to be snarky but it amazes me how so many people who talk about State rights over Federal law then change their minds when it is concerning something not to their liking. The same people who do a thumbs up now... will they also do a thumbs up when the Feds start pushing back on the states that are removing abortion clinics? Not really comparing pot to abortion, but I am looking at state rights more seriously.
He's a joke.
I get that, but thanks to medical marijuana (with zero thc) my wife’s insomnia is cured, and I have more than one friend who’s Cancer treatment was so improved and shortened that in one case it really ticked of the doctor. I mean, when he found out what my friend did to complete the healing process, the Dr. almost got physical. I get a feeling he was looking forward to buying that new boat.
And I’m a strong supporter of legalization, period, even though I’ve not touched it since 1977 and consider using it recreationally to be dumb.
Justin 'not ready' Trudeau.
And you would oppose any other legalization, as a misuse of prescriptions, just like all other proven and approved drugs.
You dont approve of another source of addictive and brain damaging drug for the use by our otherwise obese, addicted and pathetically weak American public.
That is if you arent a doper.
The DOJ will use the law to tax legal weed states. It just happens to be a coincidence those states tend to be sanctuary states as well.
DUDES!
Sounds like this idiot is posturing over nothing.
Another pothead spews!
Obviously hitting the bong a little too hard.
Actualluy I’m for complete legalization and deregulation. I’d like the FedGov to simply realize it is not part of their mission statement. They can leave it to the states.
Gary, Gary, Gary. We are not including your vote in any of our calculus. We also are not making decisions based on their popularity, just their constitutionality and morality.
Dave aint here, man!
Se my post 50.
If a country is free, people have the freedom to make stupid decisions. When you take away people’s freedom to fail, you take away their freedom to succeed.
