One of our earliest friends, when we moved to California in 1971 had this crazy SIL, who wanted to make surf boards and sell them. They backed him and his surf boards were successful and helped to start a huge growth in the Cali and world wide Surfing world.
Another family had two sons drop out of college and start making and selling skateboards. They are doing great and making more money than their Ivy league Dad.
