Those are magnificent!
I’d like to see them along the base of the wall colored red.
“Please dont tell lil Annie Coulter about this she loves her Trumps never going to build the wall fantasies so dearly.”
Down the years she has been right a lot, stood up for the right things a lot, and taken a lot of spears.
Also, she’s amused me immensely on many occasions.
I’m inclined to cut her some slack on this one.
lol!!! just as i thought...lets leave this to the experts. they’ll get it done.
The experts haven’t even laid the first stone. I am particularly unimpressed with their “expertise” and progress.
Frankly, I’d rather pour them into the foundation.
And I want barbed wire on top...where is the barbed wire!
Digicam and other sensor tech is so cheap now that I don’t quite “get” the need for a see-through wall. A “seeing” wall should do just fine.
I know the borders land really well so I wish them the best of luck. Btw, so far several of you here are doing everything ya can attempting to discredit Trump and the wall.
Do you have any idea how long Americans have been pleading, voting, begging, demanding and petitioning for relief from this pre-Trump epic government sponsored violent invasion?
“Its been a year already, and nothing.”
Actually, a lot of the longer lead time items have been worked, in addition to planning and prototyping.
The legal issues with eminent domain have progressed, with property owners in Texas receiving notice that the Government has calculated fair market value for the necessary easements, so the clock is run out on possible legal holdups (much cheaper to do that ahead of time, than having work crews unexpectedly halted).
Also, the required (but time consuming) Government Procurement contracting process has advanced. We have already gotten through the usual multi-month protests to be expected with such large contracts. Now there is a standing multi-year contract vehicle available, with capable vendors certified to quickly bid on individual task orders. It was done quickly, relative to how such large projects usually go, but it is required lead time for Government Procurement.
The Government has now also had some time to train up some contracting officers, to understand the specific requirements and specifications for this project (the prototyping stage will greatly improve the specifications written into the actual task orders, for a better wall).
Also, the vendors who have been selected have had time to prepare themselves for a big effort, planning for the hiring, training, equipment, supplies and logistics that will be needed. Careful planning allows them to strike deals with their suppliers ahead of time, so they can compete more aggressively on price on the coming task orders, based on more certain costs.
Better, faster or cheaper - it is usually only possible to do really well at two of the three, something has to give. The efforts of 2017 will make the wall better, and reduce the chance of over-paying for it. Although it was not as fast as possible, it truly is “shovel-ready” for 2018 infrastructure spending.
Yes we should just skip the planning and testing stage and waste tons of money on projects that may not work. This phase is also to test the contractors, it is easier to sell a design on paper than it is to prove you can actually build it.
And finally I have to say it must be seriously nice to be such an expert and know that you could get this done right away after the inauguration and it would just be simply a stone wall along the border nothing’s holding you and the other experts back I’m sure if you chose to you could go right down to the border and start laying stones have at it enjoy
“how hard would it be to notch two bollards just a bit then bottle-jack them apart enough to wiggle through?”
It has not been a problem. The bollards are hard, thick steel. They have been the solution to the problem of people cutting holes through the other metal fence designs.
I prefer the one with the barrel atop it. Very difficult to get around or over a barrel atop a wall.
It is what happens after they are arrested that matters. Intel the risk is greater than the reward they will keep coming, wall or no wall.
Or sharks with frickin laser beams on their heads.
“How does it stand up to a 59 Buick with a brick on the accelerator, doing 90 MPH?”
Do you think you might be alerted or notice someone crashing into your house at 90mph?
I never said I could get it done right away after the inauguration. Those look like your words to me. I simply stated how you build one, or anything for that matter. You start at the first step. Having to have something completed in one step is generally impossible, the the basic reason for things never being done these days, and no 8 sections of prototype back from October don’t count as the first stone. They count as nothing, and recycling that nothing story in December still counts as nothing.
It’s kind of like oh you can’t deport 11 million people at once... Well, no kidding, you start with one, then move to two, then three...
But I am glad as Hell to know that you obviously can’t read and don’t have a clue as to what I said. It really helps me to understand why you are okay with total failure.
Or we could do nothing, which is exactly what we are doing, and you can defend it, which is what you are doing.
I like them. Buy them all!
And some broken bottles mounted in mortar!
