The NFL exists to sell beer, trucks, securities and ED medication and selling that ad time has not been difficult.
Ad prices for the Super Bowl will be $5 million for a 30 a second spot and all those spots will sell.

Owners rely on butts in seats, concessions, local advertising, and merchandising. Players rely on endorsements, merchandise sales, etc.
Cash cash cash
But, just to be fair

Not so much ED medication, as of this year. Both Viagra and Cialis lost their patent protection earlier this year. As a consequence, the manufacturers of both (Pfizer and Lilly, respectively), knowing that continuing to advertise the two drugs can only benefit manufacturers of generic competitors and not themselves, announced that starting in 2017, they would no longer advertise on NFL broadcasts.
This also explains the financial shortfall that has befallen the NFL...two of their marquis sponsors, Pfizer and Lilly, are no longer "in the fold."
