Sad to say, it’s not really the breed of dog, rather the breed of owner that is most at fault for these tragedies.

Balderdash. That mantra again: breeds are neutral - owners instill attributes. Balderdash.
Can you offer an explanation to the unbelievably disproportionate number of pitbull types that maim & kill?

EXACTLY! I’ve had a few pits over my lifetime, and I have one now (yes, a rescue). He is sweet and is very affectionate with people.
It’s funny, but none of my dogs ever bit anyone. I’ve been bitten by dogs, though, and not a one was a pit, no matter whose it was. Granted, I don’t know any gangbangers and I will have nothing to do with anyone who mistreats an animal, so I guess that minimizes my risk of being bitten. The dogs that did bite me were usually little 10 to 20 pound “designer” dogs. Mutts are the best dogs.

Yes but if you abuse a Pomeranian the worst you could expect is a sore Achilles tendon.

With the population explosion never rule out inbreeding which results in psycho dogs no matter the breed. Bro had an English Bulldog that was WACK.

If there were even the tiniest fragment of truth in that statement, we would be reading these stories about other breeds much of the time.
But we are not.

Ive never heard of Basset Hounds killing people.
No matter how screwed up the owners are.

And if this same owner had beagles that women would be alive. Whats your point? Its a breed that has been bred for killing. Even in the best of hands it is unpredictable and for many barely controllable animal.
