Why is everyone celebrating? These tax cuts don't go far enough. The spending on leftist big government programs and departments will continue. Any benefits from these cuts will get eaten up by the spending. That's what happened during the Reagan years and the Bush II years. I can understand the Reagan years, as he had to work with a Rat Congress.

I've talked to economists and a pure flat income tax of 10%-15% would bring in over $4 trillion dollars in revenue. The compliance costs would automatically disappear. It would force the 45% of people who don't pay any taxes to join the workforce.

Had I been in Congress while this was passed, yes I would have voted for it but I would have definitely included a voting statement along with it. We need tax reform. Pure flat income tax for everyone until the 16th can be repealed and then the federal government can be funded by excise taxes and tariffs like it used to be.

Personal income is $13T, so a 10-15% flat tax would bring in 1.3 to 2T. Unless you are planning to double tax some of that income.

It’s a step in the right direction. Would you have preferred Trump do nothing? He’s up against Congress. Once the tide begins to turn, I predict further tax AND spending cuts through federal downsizing and departments being eliminated.

Trump is a billionaire businessman and is determined to run the government like a business. He’s only one guy negotiating with 535 politicians.
