Report: How Fusion GPS and the Obama Administration Weaponized the Trump Dossier
Breitbart ^ | 22 Dec 2017 | Kristina Wong

Did the Obama administration launch an investigation into the Trump campaign based solely off of unverified political opposition research? And was that “research” dressed up and given more credibility than it should have? It appears that way based on an investigation of open-source information by Tablet.

The outlet’s investigation begins with a June 24, 2017, Facebook post by Mary Jacoby, the wife of Glenn Simpson, the former Wall Street Journal reporter who started Fusion GPS, the firm behind the dossier.

Jacoby, a former Wall Street Journal reporter who once shared bylines with Simpson, bragged how her husband was not getting the credit he deserved for the dossier.

“It’s come to my attention that some people still don’t realize what Glenn’s role was in exposing Putin’s control of Donald Trump,” she wrote on Facebook. “Let’s be clear. Glenn conducted the investigation. Glenn hired Chris Steele. Chris Steele worked for Glenn.”

“Weaponized”?

Obama & team just used the weapons at hand for their own reasons without legal authority. Business as usual.

“Unmasking American Citizens caught illegally on NSA intercepts of your political opponent - TREASON?”

No, just standard operating procedure for progressives who are never held accountable by squishy “Republicans”. The day that douche Sessions is fired will be the day I start to have faith that justice will be served, but I won’t hold my breath.

Can you imagine GW Bush and McCain doing that in 2008 election with Zero!

The left wouldn't have stopped until Bush and McCain were sentenced to years in Leavenworth !

If it wasn’t the Dossier, then what was used to get the FISA warrant(s)?? That is the big question. Since they have come up with a total Zero, then that only leaves the Dossier.

This was full spectrum spying on the opposition party using all the spy tools in the government’s tool box. I am sure they were gathering many things that included the Trump team’s strategy, spending plans, states they were going after and those they were writing off, ad campaigns, debate preparations, and many others.

excerpt from the piece: It appears that Brennan was briefing Reid on the Steele dossier.

Brennan apparently sent the dossier to the White House, prompting the “eyes only” meetings.

“An envelope with extraordinary handling restrictions arrived at the White House. Sent by courier from the CIA, it carried ‘eyes only’ instructions that its contents be shown to just four people: President Barack Obama and three senior aides,” the Washington Post reported on June 23, 2017.

good to see brennan finally getting a little credit for his part in the distribution of the fraudulent "dossier"

Bit by bit, slowly but surely, the conspirators are being closed in.

Every day now there is another revelation leading toward what is/was a conspiracy by the highest levels of the fbi, doj, state, and some senior career employees all over the federal government.

Starting as a conspiracy to prevent Trump from being elected. Then it became a conspiracy to prevent anyone from finding out their crimes. A lot of us think it became a conspiracy to bring down the elected president.

Doors are closing for them. There is no way out. This will accelerate and worsen for the conspirators. Sometime, a member of this cabal will break. I can’t wait.

Best. Election. Ever.

Is it time for a pool? When will the first indictment of a cabal member be made public?

Not Treason, but it was Sedition. I believe that might be the correct legal charge.

Fruit of the Poisonous Tree
A doctrine that extends the exclusionary rule to make evidence inadmissible in court if it was derived from evidence that was illegally obtained. As the metaphor suggests, if the evidential “tree” is tainted, so is its “fruit.” The doctrine was established in 1920 by the decision in Silverthorne Lumber Co. v. United States, and the phrase “fruit of the poisonous tree” was coined by Justice Frankfurter in his 1939 opinion in Nardone v. United States.

Like the exclusionary rule itself, this doctrine is subject to three important exceptions. The evidence will not be excluded:

if it was discovered from a source independent of the illegal activity;
its discovery was inevitable;
or if there is attenuation between the illegal activity and the discovery of the evidence.
Further, if the primary evidence was illegally obtained, but admissible under the good faith exception, its derivatives (or “fruit”) may also be admissible.

Therefore, since the fake dossier was the premise used to gather intel and fish warrants .. everything beyond that is inadmissible.
