Amnesty for the 'best and brightest' will still cost taxpayers
The Hill ^ | 12/20/17 | IRA MEHLMAN

An effort by open borders groups to secure amnesty for as many as 3.4 million illegal aliens who entered the United States as minors by holding up the passage of legislation to continue funding the federal government looks like it will end in failure. Even many Democrats were wary of this tactic and, ultimately, the normally timid Republican congressional leadership called their bluff.

Add an Amendment Guaranteeing All Civil Liabilities for said recipients are to be paid through a Payroll Tax Deduction on ALL Public Servants in the US and it should pass just fine.

How about we pass a law that says leftists can sponsor a DACA child and be responsible for all of the child’s care and upbringing?

how many scholarships did not go to legal residents and citizens?

how many seats were “quota” fills at schools? How many were in magnate or charter schools taking the place of citizen’s children?

The optics of Democrats hurting Americans in order to give something to illegals would be a republican ad gift that would keep giving for the entire campaign season and beyond

The DREAM Act would enable beneficiaries to live and work legally in the United States and, presumably pay taxes on their incomes. But it would also entitle these beneficiaries to access numerous government programs and services — some immediately, and others down the road after they have obtained citizenship. The biggest and most immediate expense would be access to taxpayer-subsidized health insurance under ObamaCare, but also the Earned Income Tax Credit, Medicaid and other programs. And these are the people who we are repeatedly told are the most self-sufficient and have the most to contribute among the cohort of people living here illegally. What does the CBO’s analysis portend for the rest of the illegal alien population who are also demanding amnesty and a “pathway to citizenship

Why would anyone make the asinine assumption that just because the illegals in question came over as children they are necessarily "the best and brightest" of the lot? Most of the illegals from Mexico and Central America come from the lowest dregs of those societies, so they aren't exactly the "best and brightest" whether they're children or adults.

Assuming that they're the great because they made it through high school or into college is equally naïve. These days, anybody with a detectable heartbeat can graduate from high school and even from any number of second and third-tier colleges, especially if they're non-white immigrants filling diversity quotas.

I’m not an open borders guy by any stretch of the imagination; I was talking a WALL 20 years ago! But there are some “keepers” among those invaders, especially the DACA crowd who were brought here involuntarily. I would not object to a vetting process that permitted otherwise law-abiding and useful illegals to stay, as long as they remain law-abiding and useful.

Rules would apply, of course; no public assistance or voting. Taxes paid as legally required, whether IRS or FairTax (if we finally wake up and pass it).

Where are the parents who brought their children here illegally?

Why are legal American parents supposed to pay for their children at the expense of their own?

The DACA kids are already radicalized. America must rid itself of these Dream Stealers.

Heck, if they are worthy young people and I have the resources, I might consider sponsoring a couple! They were not the law breakers; they were brought here. Many or most of them are pretty much Americanized.

Note that I limit it to those brought in at a young age, eliminating the teens who sneaked in voluntarily.

Best & brightest? Like these?

2,139 DACA Recipients Convicted or Accused of Crimes Against Americans

Libs Cry About DACA, But Here’s the Real Average Age of These “Kids”

According to a results of an online questionnaire given to DACA recipients, the average age of these “children” is 25, with some recipients being as old as 35.

During an interview on Fox News on Monday, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach argued that DACA recipients “are not children” and explained that if the left is concerned about the cancellation of the program splitting up families, the illegal alien parents could also go back with their so-called children.

When my late husband came to the United States from South Africa I had to sign an INS paper guaranteeing I would be responsible for every debt he incurred during the time he was here up until he became a citizen (he never did...he had a bird’s nest on the ground). I had to sign I would be responsible for his medical care (hence he did not get insurance—”You can take care of this, right?” and by law of INS I had to “take care of it”.) plus all other debt.

Finally after being phsically and psychologically abused by I decided I really needed to have him out of my life, and I called Senator Arlan Spector who was responsible for this sort of thing in the INS.

Senator Spector quickly disabused me of any notion I might of had that I had an iota of protection and, indeed, the situation was actually worse than I thought. He made it very, very clear not only was I currently responsible for all my husband’s current debts I would be responsible for them after I divorced him and even after he remarried. In other words, I would become a major source of income for him to any amount for the rest of my life

How this relates to DACA. Be very, very careful what we agree to...if Chain Immigration isn’t any better controlled (or eliminated) than it is currently, anything promised to DACA will impoverish every single wage earning person in the United States.

I recommend, instead, each person who thinks DACA should be continued should “adopt” each person who needs it and be legally responsible for every debt that person incurs all his life. No more expecting the community at large to shoulder the burden. I think the leftist would expect no less.

The amnesty advocates can’t stop using DACA kids in college as poster children for their cause. Almost every one of those students is an affirmative action diversity quota kid who is basically stealing a place (and probably scholarships and financial aid) at a university that a more qualified US citizen could be filling.

There is a process in place that would allow them to do just what you say. It's called returning to their country of origin and applying for legal immigration or work visa status in the US, just like any legitimate immigrant would do.

Anything more than that is unfair to those who go through the process legitimately, and sets a precedent to future illegal immigrants by implying that they'll be given amnesty as well. Furthermore, these "involuntary immigrant" children will serve as anchor babies for the older relatives who brought them here. If they stay, you can bet their parents and siblings will stay, and they'll be bringing over their cousins from the home country too just for good measure.

Yes, it has been proven they are not the best and brightest, just the most entitled. Sickening.
Think of all the AMERICAN parents who are paying full load tuition for their kid who get to attend classes with diversity award winners.

I agree with your approach--but it would defeat the whole scam of the Dem Con artists.

No, chain migration should not be permitted. I neglected to add that to the rules. The "go home and come back if we approve you" has an unintended consequence of disrupting the few REAL keepers who have started businesses, bought property, paid taxes and are assets to their communities. Vet 'em, then eject or keep them.

"One size fits all" solutions seldom work.

Let’s face it, the dems and a large amount of republicans, are much more interested in keeping the borders unsecured, than they are in doing anything positive for the American people.
