I remember having “proofs” pounded into me in 9th grade geometry. It was a lesson in logical thinking that has served me well whether I am doing a mathematical proof, writing a report or listening to the pro and con of a political argument.

Youre right! It is especially useful when listening to a political debate or even watching the news and trying to figure out if the story is full of lies or not.

They haven’t figured out a way to test “proofs”. If it’s not tested - it’s not taught
