Yours is a very logical and compelling argument.

I would add: We, as a species didn't even radiate coherent information until Hertz, Tesla and Marconi gave us the radio in the very late 1800's.

yep. Thinking four dimensionally.... The Universe is incomprehensibly enormous, as well. So, to have another civilization with interstellar technology to hit our flyspeck of a planet in the entire universe, at exactly the right time..... Not likely.

And, if they did, who's to say that we'd want them to find us? Or would be able to communicate with them if they did? For instance, you know about the ants that live in your driveway, but you don't spend time out there trying to talk to them. You might watch them, occasionally, or kill them when they try to get in the house. But, you don't talk to them. Why would we think that an alien race advanced enough to travel the stars would think any differently of us?
